Contessa Nicole Cooper, 30, of Westlake was taken by the angels on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. She was born on February 14, 1984 in Sulphur, LA. Contessa attended Westlake High School and recently earned her certificate in phlebotomy. She loved cooking and was very creative with it as well as decorating and doing crafts. Contessa will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Nathanial Greer of Sulphur and McKinzie Mitchell of Many, LA; her mother, Keena Cooper of Westlake; a sister, Amber Cooper Palir and husband Kent of Westlake; her maternal grandparents, Bobby and Peggy Smith of Westlake; paternal grandparents, William and Carol Cooper of Lake Charles; maternal great grandfather, Lee Roberts of Westlake; a great aunt, Naomi Guess of Moss Bluff; and numerous cousins and extended family. She also leaves behind a beloved dog, Mae Mae. She was preceded in death by her father, Jackie G. Cooper. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mark Stanton and Rev. Bill W. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the family for outstanding expenses.
