Craig Lyles, 57, was called home November 28, 2011, surrounded by the love of his beautiful family.
Born to Ira Claude and Helen Vollmer Lyles, Craig grew up in Lake Charles and attended Barbe High School. He was an active volunteer of the American Red Cross and proudly served in the United States Army.
Mr. Lyles returned to Lake Charles last year after living in Clarksville, AR for twenty years.
His greatest joy in life was his loving wife, Diane and their children, Craig Lyles, II, Laura Lyles, and Kyle Lyles of Lake Charles, Tracy Steward and husband David of Granite City, IL and Jerry Davis and wife Julie of Moss Bluff, LA. He was above all an exceptional father and loving family man that was extremely devoted to the life and joy he shared with his family and friends.
He also leaves to cherish his memory and spirit his mother, Helen Lyles; brothers, Alan Lyles and wife Debbie and Robert Lyles and wife Effie; sisters, Iris Fontenot and Moe and Laura Lyles, all of Lake Charles. Also, his wife's parents, Joan and Louis Spohr of Granite City, IL; and grandchildren, David and Christopher Steward, and Jasmine Davis; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
His "beat" will go on forever.
