Croker Scott Cassell, Jr, 67, of Lake Charles and formerly of Eunice, died in a local care facility following an extended illness. Croker was a native of Lake Charles and a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School, Class of 1965. Following graduation, he worked as a banker at First National Bank. He retired from a sales career after working for 30 years for Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Dillards. He enjoyed all sports, especially watching football and playing softball, was an avid reader, and playing golf, fishing and listening to music. Croker was of the Baptist faith. Preceding Croker in death are his parents, Croker Scott Cassell, Sr. and Verlie Manuel Cassell and a sister, Kathy Cassell Brunet. He leaves to honor and cherish his memories, a daughter, Tracy Cassell Mayeaux and husband G. Buba; four grandchildren, Mason Grant, Hannah Elizabeth, Mia Gayle and Marlie Rae Mayeaux; sisters, Cynthia Maddox Borne and husband Lonnie and Marcia Cassell Mott; four nephews and three nieces. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 26, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Grady Mayeaux, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
