Curlise Cormier, 82 passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Curlise was born in Edgerly, LA on May 13, 1933 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cormier. He has lived in Sulphur since 1976. Curlise worked in the oilfield industry as a tool pusher for 20 years. He also worked for Calcasieu parish as a road patcher. Curlise was a member of the American Legion Post #208 in Vinton, LA. He was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Church. Curlise was a veteran of the United States Army. Curlise is survived by children, James Cormier, Cynthia Bailey, Rickey Cormier and Betty Spinks; grandchildren, James and Joshua Bailey, Ashleigh Cormier, Joey Spinks and Michelle Chaumont; great grandchildren, Destanie, Thomas, Jasmine and Zachary Bailey, Raina Neal, Karlee and Chloe Cormier, Elijah and Conner Chaumont; and one sister, Mary Jane Breaux. Curlise was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Betty Louviere Cormier and Laura Cormier; one son, Joe Morgan, his brothers and sisters. Services for Curlise will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 2 pm at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Father Andrews Kollannoor, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 11-9 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm and a wake at 7 pm and from 9 am until the time of service Monday. Pall bearers will be James, Joshua and Thomas Bailey, Mitchell Spinks, Jimmie Cormier and Larry Breaux. Honorary pall bearers will be Zachary Bailey, Elijah Chaumont, Mr, C.J. Johnson and Raina Neal.
