Curran Guy Bartholomew, Jr., 91, of Houston, TX passed away Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at Brookdale Spring Shadows in Houston.
Mr. Bartholomew was born in Little Rock, AR, raised in Iowa, LA and has lived most of his life in Houston, TX. He was a graduate of Iowa High School, attended MSU and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University. He served the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Bartholomew retired with over thirty years of service with Cities Service. He enjoyed playing golf and extensive international travel with his wife. Mr. Bartholomew will be most remembered for his love, adoration and devotion to his wife of over fifty years, “Totsy”. He will also be remembered for his love of his family, his kindness and most humble generosity, his sense of humor and his laugh. He was of Methodist faith.
He leaves to honor his memory, one sister, Linda Richard and husband Ivan of Iowa; one sister-in-law, Babette Bartholomew of Baton Rouge and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa “Totsy” Mouton Bartholomew; parents, Curran Guy Bartholomew, Sr. and Audie Richardson Bartholomew; brother, Hollis David Bartholomew; two sisters, Barbara Jane Walker and Alla Ray Hayes and a nephew, Guy Mark Hayes.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Monday, August 14, 2017 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend David Dewitt will officiate. Interment will follow. Visitation Monday will be from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3717 Government Street, Suite #7, Alexandria, LA 71302.
