Curtis Ray Johns

Curtis Ray Johns, 64, of Carlyss, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022.

He was as a pipefitter/boilermaker for over 30 years, working as a contractor in many of the local industrial complexes. A true Louisiana man, Curtis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was known for his love of Cajun cooking, and you never left his house without a “to-go” meal. Curtis’ greatest joy was his children and grandchildren, he looked forward to their family gatherings.

Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Levi Johns and wife, Christy of Carlyss, Nathaniel Johns of Choctaw, OK, and Brandon Johns and wife, Meredith, of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Baylor Bolte, Cambri Johns, Lani Johns, and Cooper Johns; siblings, Christine “Chris” Johns of Moss Bluff, Samuel Johns of Sulphur, Theresa Broussard of Mauriceville, and Timmy Johns of New York. He will also be greatly missed by his faithful and constant companion, “Lil Man”.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon H. Johns; and mother, Phoebe Stelly; and three siblings, Verona Johns, Jamie Johns, and Helga Johns.

Services honoring Curtis’ life will be 10 AM, Friday, August 5, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur with Father Luke Krzanowski, M.S. officiating. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 4 PM – 8 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur and resume at 8 AM until time of service on Friday.
