Cynthia Gayle Summerville

June 22, 1962 — June 14, 2017

Cynthia Gayle Summerville, 54, of Lake Charles passed away peacefully at 6:39 PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in Sherman, TX surrounded by her closest loved ones.

 

Mrs. Summerville was born on June 22, 1962 in Mamou, LA. She lived in Lake Charles since 1965, where she was a Lake Charles High School graduate.  She was previously employed with the Calcasieu Parish School Board. 

 

She was full of high energy and will be remembered as fun-loving.  Cindy enjoyed life to the fullest with her loving husband, who she adored.  She cherished her time taking care of her family and spending time with them.  Cindy also loved riding their Harley, fishing, listening to live music, camping, and traveling.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 17 years, Pat Summerville of Lake Charles. Three daughters, Darla Abshire of Dallas, TX, LaRae Summerville of Denison, TX, and Candace Abshire of Sulphur. Two sons, Ben Miller of Moss Bluff and Chris Summerville of Lake Charles. Two brothers, Randel Douget (Charlene) of Lake Charles and Keith Douget of Moss Bluff. And her only granddaughter, Leighton Miller.

 

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Savie Anthony “Tony” Abshire and her parents, Helena and Carllon Douget.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 18, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Deacon Anthony Pousson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Sunday and will continue until the start of the service with a Cursillo rosary being recited at 11:00 AM.
