Funeral Services for Sister Cynthia L.W. Jones , 68 of Lake Charles, La. will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Greater St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church Cathedral.   Pastor Samuel C. Tolbert Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2016, 9:00 AM-11:00 AM at the church.

Sister Jones departed this life on Monday, September 5, 2016 in a local hospital. She was born June 1, 1948 in New Orleans, La. to the late Brother Willie Joseph and the late Sister Evelyn M. Thompson Williams.

Sister Jones was a faithful and devoted servant at the Greater St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church Cathedral after being relocated by Hurricane Katrina. She served as Adult Women Sunday School teacher, New Members teacher, Greeter, member of Small Group Deborah, Gospel Chorus and Mass choir member, Mission member and was a supporter of all church programs and activities.

Sister Jones was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, sister-friend and she leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughter, Rhonda Annette Jones Bell; her son in law, Terrone Bell; grandchildren, Terrone Alfred, Tyler Anthony, and Tyrese Aerian Bell all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her sister, Pauline Williams Hurst of Lake Charles, La.; niece, Ledgue Patrice Williams and great niece, Taylor Zhane’ Williams both of New Orleans, La.; cousins, Leroy and Frank Thompson, Joyce Marie and Clevette Marshall all of New Orleans, La. along with many sister friends, selected children and godchildren as well as her Greater St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Samuel C. Tolbert Pastor of Lake Charles, La., Saint Thomas Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Willie Moore Pastor New Orleans, La., Community Baptist Church, Rev. Robert Tanner, Pastor Kenner, La.; and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Elmore Garner, Pastor Lake Charles, La. families, along with many other relatives and friends.

Sister Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Brother Roland A.M. Jones; her parents, Brother Willie Joseph and Sister Evelyn M. Thompson Williams; maternal grandparents, Henry Thompson and Sister Gladys Hamm Thompson Smoot; paternal grandparents, Brother Isreal Williams Johnson; aunt, Edna Thompson; uncle, Cleveland Marshall; cousin, Charles Thompson.
