Cynthia Lynn Pratt

April 14, 1967 — December 28, 2014

Cynthia "Cyndi" Lynn Richard Pratt, 47, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014. Mrs. Pratt was a was a native of Sulphur. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School and McNeese State University where she attained a degree in Mass Communications. She was an avid outdoorsman, having enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved the water. She also enjoyed lawn work, gardening and tending her fruit trees. Her greatest joy was supporting her daughter and following her 4H events. Mrs. Pratt will be forever remembered for her generosity, sense of humor, her spirit and her love and devotion to her family. She was an admirable woman of faith and attended St. Theodore Catholic Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband , James Michael Pratt of Lake Charles; one daughter, Destinee Mariah Pratt of Lake Charles; parents, Jimmy and Juanita Hollier Richard of Sulphur; two step daughters, Hollie Michelle Pratt of Cypress, TX and Jamie Lynn Pratt and husband Drew Denny of Carrolton, TX; one grandson, Mattox Row Denny of Carrolton, TX; one sister, Shannon Richard Ashworth and husband Louis of Sulphur; mother-in-law, Flavia Reeds Pratt of Lake Charles and three sisters-in-law, Martha Starkovich and husband Paul of Lake Charles; Julie Vrana and husband Mike of Allen, TX and Corrie Precht and husband Kelly of Sweetlake. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Myrtle Marie Hollier and Dorothy and Edmond Richard; father-in-law, James Woodson Pratt and step-son, James Matthew Pratt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 01, 2015 from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Jeffry Starkovich will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM in the funeral home.
