Dagmar Georgine Lindsey, 61, of Lake Charles passed away at 10:03 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 in her residence.
Mrs. Lindsey was born on October 10, 1954 in Kronach, West Germany. She moved to Lake Charles in 1978 to marry her husband, Ben Lindsey, who she met in Germany where he was stationed. Mrs. Lindsey was a lens technician for an optometrist and retired in 2010 to take care of her grandchildren.
She was a dedicated and loving friend to all who knew her and had several “adopted” children she treated like her own. Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed reading and crocheting. She will be remembered for her famous quote “Like I always say, God don’t like ugly.”
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 38 years, Ben Lindsey; two daughters, Sara Lindsey of Lake Charles and Stephanie Soileau (Cody Sr.) of LeBleu Settlement; a Godson, Timothy Sonnier of Lake Charles; three siblings, Gerlinde, Petra, and Michiel; and three grandchildren, Vega Hayes, Cody Soileau, Jr., and Amelia Soileau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgine and Wilhelm Zelosko and a grandson, Nova Hayes.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 7, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Alan Weishampel will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 AM and continue until time of services.
