Daisetta left this world behind to be with her Savior on January 31, 2021, at the age of 94.
She was born November 13, 1926 in Daisetta, Tx. to Robert and Esther Sweezy. Daisetta lived in Baytown, Tx. and Crowley, La. during her youth, and later moved to southwest Louisiana where she met her husband of 51 years, Chester M. Carr. Daisetta graduated from Westlake High School, class of 1947. She worked for Plauche Insurance and later retired after 14 years of service there. She was also an active and involved member of Westlake Assembly of God Church for many years, which later came to be known as The Sanctuary. Daisetta enjoyed fishing, cooking, but her greatest joy came from doing all of these things with her family.
She will be remembered as a kind, loving, grandmother who cared about everyone around her. She was a firm believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lived as a Christian example to all who came to know her. The example she set by reading her Bible for hours at a time on a daily basis and always being in prayer for the wellbeing of her family and friends, are some of the greatest lessons she taught to those she leaves behind.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester M. Carr, her parents Robert and Esther Sweezy, brother Frank Sweezy, stepson, Chester W. Carr, and nephew John McKay Sweezy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister-in-law Nona Lumpkin, grand-children Vicki Valentine, Wesley and Casey Carr, great grand-children, Mason and Andrew Buckman, Ambria Simmons, Kaleb Carr, and niece Janet King.
A homegoing service will be held in her memory at University Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 10. Visitation begins at noon and the service begins at 2:00. Burial will take place at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
