Daisy Ouida Wale Fontenot

Daisy Ouida Wale Fontenot, 96, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, August 06, 2015 in a local healthcare facility. Mrs. Fontenot was a native of Oakdale, LA. She married the love of her life, Ogden Fontenot, in January 1940. She lived with her "sweetheart" on a farm between Oakdale and Oberlin where they raised crops and cattle and where she became a homemaker to raise her daughters. In 1976, Mrs. Fontenot moved to Lake Charles where she lived thirty years at Acadian Oaks Apartments and was an active member of Boulevard Baptist Church until she was physically unable. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and spirit. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Ouida Brevelle and Corene Soileau, both of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Craig Brevelle and wife Chloe of Paige, TX, Mark Ogden Brevelle and wife Laurie of Lake Charles, Lisa Brevelle Wright and husband Sam of Grapevine, TX, Mitchell Soileau of New Orleans and Paul Soileau of Austin, TX and six great-grandchildren, Katy LeBlanc Sewell and husband Trent of Grapevine, TX, Callie Brevelle and Whitney Brevelle of Lake Charles, Daniel Brevelle and Greyson Brevelle of Paige, TX and Emma Pousson of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, V.V. and Martha Wale and her husband, Ogden Fontenot. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Sunday, August 09, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Jace Eskind and Father Whitney Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation Sunday will be from 10:00 AM until the start of services in the funeral home. Mrs. Fontenot's family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Doctor's, caretakers and staff of Resthaven Nursing Home and Harbor Hospice for their excellence in care and their kindness in caring for their Mother throughout her time with them.
