Daisy White Bellard

Daisy White Bellard, 60, of Lake Charles joined the Lord on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the comfort of her home.

She was born in Falfurrias, TX and spent a majority of her life as a resident of Lake Charles. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Sowela Community College and was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 35 years. She dedicated 15 years to the Robinswood School facility and was currently employed with the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a school nurse. Her gentle, compassionate, and giving nature made her beloved by her many students.

Daisy enjoyed swimming, dancing, reading, decorating and spending time with her friends and family. She had an adventurous spirit, loved to travel and try new things, but most of all she enjoyed helping and caring for anyone in need–family, friends, and strangers.

She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of 28 years, John E. Bellard of Lake Charles; mother, Esperanza “Hope” Settlemeyer and husband, Ellis; her sons, Jared Mele and wife Allison of DeRidder and Jason Mele and wife Irisa; daughter, Jamie Mele and Ross Bourgeois of Lake Charles; bonus daughter, Jessica Mele of Lake Charles; her siblings, Sherry White Leblanc and husband, Jerry of Moss Bluff and Debra Brown of Sterlington, La.; and her nine grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Tyler Mele, Maleah Bourgeois, Treylon Mele, and Liam, James, Silas, and Allie Mele.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Robert White; her brother, Clyde White Jr,; and her loving grandmother, Felicita Reyna San Miguel Trevino.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m Tuesday, June 14, in Johnson’s Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. with rosary prayer at 6 p.m. on Monday and will resume on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
