Dale James Daigle, Sr.

Dale James Daigle, Sr., 72, of Lake Charles died at 8:30 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in a local care facility.


Mr. Daigle was born on August 4, 1939 in Lafayette, LA and lived in Lake Charles most of his life. He retired from Jupiter Chemicals as a truck driver.


Mr. Daigle was an entertaining joke teller who never met a stranger. He enjoyed cooking and sports, especially football. His favorite past time was watching John Wayne Western movies.


Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Timothy Wayne Daigle of Lake Charles, Mark Anthony Daigle and wife Dawn of Lake Charles, and Dale James Daigle, Jr. and wife Amanda of Charleston, SC; five daughters, Katherine "Kathie" Veillon and husband Paul of Dequincy, Debra Woodruff and husband Ricky "Woody" of Middleburg, FL, Mona Daigle and husband Harold "Poochie" Smith of Lake Charles, Susan Chaline and husband Michael of Hackberry, and Melissa Daigle of South Carolina; two brothers, Alton Daigle, Jr. of Sulphur, Louisiana and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daigle of Texas; and a sister, Mildred Puckett of Colorado. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, whom he adored dearly.


He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Daigle Leonard; a brother, Patrick Daigle; and his parents, Eva Bertrand and Alton Daigle, Sr.


Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, September 19, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Brian King will officiate. Following the service, Mr. Daigle will be cremated. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 AM until the start of the rosary at 3:30 PM.
