Dalmas Luther Laster of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Dalmas was born on September 10, 1934 in Crowder, MS to William and Minnie Lindsey Laster.
Dalmas, or D.L. as he was known, served his country in the United States Air Force. After graduation from college he worked for and later retired from Texaco as a chemical engineer. D.L. loved to hunt and fish as well as work in his garden. He loved to cook and was known for his wonderful breakfast meals.
Dalmas is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Corliss Ann Laster and his brother, Walter “John” Luther Laster.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 17 years Donna Odeven Laster and his children, William (Marisela) Laster, James Laster, Stefanie (Clint) Parr, and step-daughter Bridgette (Mark) Soileau. Those who will especially miss him are his 5 grandchildren; Chiara Guillory, Brittany Chretien, Allison Soileau, Matthew Soileau and Sienna Laster; along with 2 great-grandchildren, Braighlyn Guillory and Harley Guillory, Jr. He also leaves his siblings; Alton (Linda) Laster, Nell Laster, Linda (A.B.) Crawford and Annette Cathy. He also leaves his best friend “Mater”, his loyal and faithful dog.
Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
