Dalton J. Breaux

Dalton J. Breaux, 77, of Lake Charles passed away at 3:05 PM, Friday, July 16, 2010 in a local hospital.


He was born in Henry, LA, but was a life resident of Lake Charles. Mr. Breaux retired from Cities-Service as an operator after many years of service. He enjoyed his retirement job as a crossing guard through the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department at St. John Elementary School for many years. Mr. Breaux was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War, being awarded the Purple Heart and the Letter of Valor and was a member of W. B. Williamson American Legion Post #1. He coached in many age groups for the Little Leagues of Lake Charles, and was devoted to his wife and family. Mr. Breaux was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and a Crusillo Member.


He is survived by his wife, Audrey Newman Breaux; two sons, Terrel Breaux and wife Susan, and Brian Breaux and wife Susie all of Lake Charles; two daughters, Carolyn Fontenot and husband Byron of Lake Charles, and Cindy Beville and husband Claude of Cove, TX; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Carpenter of Lake Charles.


His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Pastor William Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a American Legion service at 6:00 PM, followed by a Crusillo Rosary at 7:00 PM, and continue from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Monday, in the funeral home.
