Damon Ray Benoit

Damon Ray Benoit, 62, of Lake Charles died at 8:25 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in his residence. Mr. Benoit was born on October 7, 1952 in Lake Charles. He resided in Lafayette and was a graduate of Fatima School before returning to Lake Charles 26 years ago. Mr. Benoit worked in sales for Beverage Sales from 1993 until 2011 and then began working for Little Debbie until 2013. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Scherry Pagitt Benoit; a sister, JoNell Richard and husband Ronald of Cypress, TX; a brother-in-law, Donnie Pagitt of Lake Charles; and nieces and nephews, Liz Higgens, Curtis Jones, and Brandy and Brad Richard. He also leaves behind his loving pets, two dogs, Little Bitty and Lacy and a cat, Munchkin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merline and Curtis Benoit and a sister, Linda Marie Benoit. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
