Dan Calvin Tradewell

Dan Calvin Tradewell, 68, of Westlake passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in his residence.

Mr. Tradewell was born on July 8, 1951 and was a lifelong resident of Westlake. He was a 1969 graduate of Westlake High School. Mr. Tradewell continued his friendships made during high school and enjoyed attending the reunions and keeping in touch with his high school classmates. Following high school, he attended Northeast Louisiana University where he played football. Mr. Tradewell joined the US Navy and served his country until he was honorably discharged. He then began his 34-year career in the offshore oil industry with Halliburton. He dedicated his life to working until finally retiring.

He took pleasure in hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Brent Allen Tradewell of Westlake, Terrance Cade “TC” Tradewell (Jenny) of Westlake, and Eric Heath Tradewell of Lake Charles; sister, Golden Tradewell of Lake Charles; and seven grandchildren, Alexa, Olivia, Bray, Emma, and Breelynn Tradewell, and Bryce and Brayden LaFargue.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and William Tradewell; mother of his children, Shelia Marie Beard; and a Grandson, Gavin George Tradewell.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Brian Fitkin will officiate. A gathering will begin on Saturday from 4:00 PM until the start of the service.
