Mr. Dana Levy Burnsed, 57, of DeRidder, Louisiana died at 11:39 PM Monday, May 22, 2012 with his loving family at his side.


Mr. Burnsed was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on December 4, 1955. He was a 1972 graduate of Pasco County High School in Florida. He served 22 years in the United States Army as a First Class Sergeant. In 1990 he was assigned to the Joint Task Force and went to South East Asia to recover 192 MIA's and POW's. He also served from 2002 until 2004 in the first wave of the Iraqi war .Mr. Burnsed was a member of the American Legion Post #27 and a member of the VFW Post # 4283 In Dade City, Florida. He was the recipient of the Silver Star in " Operation Iraqi Freedom" and also received 22 coins of merit for all of the years served in the Army.



He is survived by his wife of 7 years Jan Fafard Burnsed of DeRidder, LA, one son Michael Shawn Helton and wife Angel currently living in Germany, one daughter Amand Fafard and the father of her children Gary of DeQuincy, LA, one brother James Burnsed of Dade City, FL, two sisters, Aletha Harelson of Zepher Hills, Fl, an dLori Burnsed of Kuwait, mother-in-law Mama Anna of DeRidder, LA, six grandchildren Zack Helton, Alexandria Helton, Makayla Helton, Christopher Sanders, Sara Underwood and Kara Underwood.
