Dana Ruth Manuel

Dana Ruth Manuel, 67, of Lake Charles died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her residence with her family at her side following an extended illness. Dana was a native of Cleveland, Texas and lived in Lake Charles for most of her life. She was a dedicated nursery worker at Boulevard Baptist Church for over 20 years and worked at Wal-Mart for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Marshall and Lida Hines Collins. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Jerry James Manuel, Sr.; children, Diana Manuel, Jerry Manuel, Jr. and Jessica Manuel; siblings, Tom Shirley, Virginia Perry, and Mary Brodie; four grandchildren, two step grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Theron Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday and from 11:00 AM to the time of service at the funeral home.
