Daniel Chris Pottersnyk, 56, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 10:10 AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in a local care facility.
Mr. Pottersnyk was born August 29, 1959 in Weirton, WV. He was a 1977 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, PA and graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology in Columbus, OH with his Associates degree in Electronics. He moved to the Albany / Hammond, LA area in 1980, where he lived for almost thirty years. Mr. Pottersnyk has lived in the Lake Charles area for the past four years. He was a hard worker and worked as an electrician with various companies during his career. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Hammond, LA. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and cooking, but his son was always his pride and joy. Dan was a loving and caring man with an outgoing fun personality; he will be missed dearly.
Mr. Pottersnyk is survived by his son, Daniel C. Pottersnyk, II of Hammond, LA; mother, Constance Pottersnyk of Maumee, OH; sister, Donna K. Davidson and husband Roger of Maumee, OH; niece, Ashley Dawn Davidson and husband Ian Howard; nephew, “R.J.” Davidson; great-niece, Annora Howard; mother of his child, Barbara Sanford Morgan of Hammond, LA and her son, Anthony Morgan; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Pottersnyk; infant daughter, Kristin Danielle Pottersnyk; and grandparents, Roy and Dorothy Brady.
His memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Emmaus Baptist Church in Tickfaw, LA. A gathering of family and friends will be at the church from 9:00 AM until the start of the service. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.Visits: 5
