Daniel Johnson, 69, passed away on March 7, 2018 at a local care facility.
After attending El Campo High School in Texas he served his country in the United States Marine Corps and received 2 Purple Hearts during the Vietnam War. After the war, he worked in the fishing industry and then began his career in marine research for Kinsella Cook and Associates where he spent many years working in South America. He eventually retired working in the geo-physical field with Fugro. Danny enjoyed working out in the yard with his flowers and vegetables. He also liked to feed the birds and squirrels. In his down time he and his son, Travis, would go fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Theresa Johnson; son, Travis Johnson; two grandchildren, Dustin and Dillan; great grandchild, Addison; mother, Lorraine Johnson; sister, Cleo Primeaux; three brothers, Ronald Johnson and wife Mary, Gerald Johnson and wife Tammy, Johnny Johnson and wife Donna; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Starks Johnson; and two sisters, Lora Guthrie, and Sandy Reese.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home and a private inurnment service will be held at Consolata Cemetery at a later date.
