Daniel Joseph Butch Leblanc, Jr.

Daniel Joseph LeBlanc, Jr., 68, of Lake Charles, LA died on June 20, 2011 in his residence.

Mr. LeBlanc was born September 29, 1942 in Lake Charles, LA, where he has lived most of his life. He was a 1960 graduate of Lake Charles High School, where he excelled in football, baseball, track, and basketball. Mr. LeBlanc also attended Louisiana State University, where he was a four year letterman in football and baseball. He received the Wigman Wiseman of American Award, was All SEC Sophomore at LSU, and was chosen for the All Star team for a number of years. He was a member of the American Bowling Congress and the LSU Sports Alumni. Mr. LeBlanc retired after forty years from Mobil Oil, where he worked as an offshore oilfield supervisor.

Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his sons, Luke Anthony "Rocky" LeBlanc and wife Wendy of Golden Meadow, LA, Gunny Lee LeBlanc and wife Jennifer of Prairieville, LA, and Daniel Joseph LeBlanc, III of Lake Charles, LA; mother, Jewell Coe LeBlanc; sisters, Geraldine "Gerry" LeBlanc Venissat Ewalt of Campbell, CA and Carolyn LeBlanc Truax of Lake Charles; Godchild, Vickie Venissat Maloney of Alameda, CA; and grandchildren, Arron Michael, Savannah, Brittney, and Jack LeBlanc.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Joseph LeBlanc, Sr.

His memorial service will be at 4:00 PM on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
