Daniel Guidry, 80, of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2023. Danny was born January 15, 1943 to Joseph and Edith Guidry in DeRidder, Louisiana. He grew up in Sulphur and was a 1962 graduate of Sulphur High School. After high school Danny served four years in the US Air Force as an aircraft electrician. Danny retired from Bridgestone/Firestone after 37 years as an instrument technician.

Danny enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and is known for his country-style ribs, brisket, and gumbo. He loved to hunt and fish, and his favorite hobby was gardening. Danny grew blueberries, muscadines, and vegetable gardens, and loved to share his harvest with others.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Guidry. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years Carolyn Guidry, his son Michael Guidry (Leslie), daughters Joanna Petry (Michael) and Ruth Wilson (Brian), eight grandchildren, Stephanie Mueller, Katy Petry Twiner, Glenn Guidry, Darren Guidry, Allison Guidry, Karson Petry, Zachary Wilson and Brianna Wilson; and two sisters Marilyn Hampton and Sharon Beckcom.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 10 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 5-8 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with visitation continuing on Monday at 9 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will be held at 12:15 P.M. at the Jennings Veterans Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
