Daniel Wayne Williams

Daniel Wayne Williams, 68, of Lake Charles passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 16, 2022 in his residence.

Mr. Williams was born on November 16, 1953 in Memphis, TN, but moved to Lake Charles shortly afterwards. After graduating from LaGrange High School in 1971, he attended McNeese State University. Beginning at Vincent’s Electrical and Plumbing in 1971, Mr. Williams served over 30+ years in the electrical contracting business. His passion was built in 1992, when he started his own electrical contracting business, D.W. Williams Electric, where he finally retired in 2008.  

In his spare time, he took pleasure in fishing, boating, and hanging out with his best friend, only boy and grandson, Drake.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Tracie Williams Dunn (Larry) of Rosenberg, TX and Danette McManus Brown (Dr. James “Jim” Brown) of Lake Charles; sister, Cynthia Shirley (Zack) Deridder; brother, Terrell “Tay” Williams of Florida; and three grandchildren, Drake Nugent and Blaire and Brysley McManus.

He was preceded in death by his forever spouse, Dixette Williams and his parents, Verda and Daniel G. Williams.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  The family wishes to have a private memorial service at a later date.
