Danya Marie Taveney

Danya Marie Taveney was born October 27, 1940 in (Birthplace) to the late John D. and Lorita Marie Mire. 

She was a graduate of LaGrange High School, class of 1959. She was devout in her faith, attending mass at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, also a member of the Alter Society. Often her kind and giving heart would lead her to serve those in need, working alongside others doing community outreach for young mothers. 

Her hobbies included spending time with her family, cooking, fishing, playing bingo and keeping her grandson and other children in her home daycare. 

She was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, July 10, 2022 by her daughter, Kimberly Taveney and her parents. 

Those left to cherish her memory; daughter, Kim Richard of Duson, LA; son, Mark Taveney of Lake Charles, LA; three grandchildren, Trent, Sarah, and Zachary; brothers, Keith Mire and wife Rebecca of Shreveport, Carroll Mire and wife Grace, Ronnie Mire, and Dickie (Debby) Mire.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Family to welcome friends Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home beginning at 4pm to 6pm. Memorial Services led by Pastor Steve Shirley will begin at 6pm.
