Daphne Elaine Tullier

Elaine Tullier, 88, of Lake Charles died at 1:24 AM on Monday, December 22, 2014 in a local care facility. Mrs. Tullier was born on September 17, 1926 in Baton Rouge where she was a graduate of Istrouma High School and earned her Business Education Degree at LSU. She moved to the Lake Charles area in 1968. Mrs. Tullier was a homemaker most of her life. In her earlier years, she taught business education in Calcasieu Parish for five years and also was a secretary for several businesses for twelve years. She was a member of St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Lake Charles Racquet Club. Mrs. Tullier and her husband enjoyed camping and belonged to the Louisiana United Methodist Campers Group. She also enjoyed playing Bridge with a group of ladies. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband for over 68 years, E.J. Tullier of Lake Charles; three sons, Dale Tullier and wife Eileen of Denham Springs, LA, Dennis Tullier of Medford, OR, and Jay Tullier and wife Dell of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Carole Porter and husband Charles of Kingwood, TX; five grandchildren, Heather Hand, Joycelin Ebbers, Amanda Miller, Rachel Tullier, and Elliott Toullier, III; and six great grandchildren, Zackery Ebbers, Alyssa Ebbers, Skilynn Hand, Arianna Hand, Serenity Miller, and Scott Miller. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Ameritus Assistant Living and also to Harbor Hospice for their exceptional care given to Mrs. Tullier. Donations may be made to St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church Manna Program, 1500 Country Club Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70605 or to a charity of one's choice.
