Darnell Fontenot Guillory, 81, of Lake Charles, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at a local nursing home facility. Darnell was born in Opelousas, LA. on September 3, 1942, to Marjorie and Allen Fontenot and had spent the last 56 years as a resident of Lake Charles.

Darnell’s life was simple but full. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and sister. She loved her family and especially enjoyed having them together and cooking for them.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; Donald Patrick Guillory, daughter; Nicola Guillory, seven sisters; Audry Dorrell, Sandra Fontenot, Adweiner Deshotel (Kenneth), Lorraine Vidrine (Junior), Wylene Fontenot, Debbie Bordelon (Perry), Della Bordelon (Rodney), brother; Charles T. Fontenot, and 30 nieces and nephews, 67 great nieces and nephews, and 27 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandson; William Kyle Richard, parents; Allen Fontenot and Marjorie Granger, brothers; Alpha and Nerril Fontenot; nephew Denton Landreneau, and niece; Tammy Vidrine.

Visitation will be from 9:00AM until 12:00PM, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Funeral service will be at 12:00PM at also at Johnson Funeral Home.
