Darrel "Bee" Ancelet

December 20, 1938 — November 17, 2020

Darrel R. “Bee” Ancelet, 81, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in a local hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Bee was born to Elnora O’Quain Ancelet and Theo Ancelet, Sr. on December 20, 1938.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a carpenter for Cit-Con Refinery for over 18 years and later retired from Turner Industries.   He enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking, fishing and spending time with his family. His favorite hobbies included carpentry and making wine. He loved delivering his wine just to visit with his friends and see the joy in their faces.

Left to cherish his memory  include his children Wayne Ancelet and wife Nita of Sulphur, Rhonda Swire and husband Robert of Hackberry, Jerry Ancelet of Hackberry, and Janet Andrepont of Hackberry;  eight grandchildren, Justin Swire, Megan Swire Domaingue and husband Jeremy, Brittany Ancelet, Lakeyn Smith and husband Jeremy, Victoria Tarkington, Michael Ancelet, Kateln Shillow and husband A. J., and Jordan Ancelet; nine great grandchildren; one brother, William Ancelet and wife Shirley; one sister, Roxanne Nutt and husband, Robert; and brother-in-law, Harry Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Fernell Ancelet; son-in-law, Steven Andrepont; parents Theo, Sr and Elnora; and his siblings, Annie Lou “Sue” Miller, Mary Ida Terro, Gerald “Booster” Ancelet, Calvin Ancelet and Theo Ancelet, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Saturday, November 21, 2020 in St. Theresa Catholic Church. Rev. Luke Krzanowski, M.S.  will officiate.  Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss. Visitation will be 3 – 9pm, Friday in First Baptist Church of Carlyss, 5009 Hwy. 27 South, with a Cursillo Rosary at  7 pm, and resume Saturday, 8am – 9:30am.
