Darrell "Big" Smith

Darrell Keith Smith, 76 of Moss Bluff, La, was carried from this life to his new home, a home prepared by our Savior. Darrell was born to Lionel and Beatrice Goodman Smith on February 1, 1945.

Darrell married his loving wife, Yvonne, in 1964. There was so many memories in those 55 years of marriage. They have one son, David Keith Smith.

He truly loved people. The way he interacted with those he met was truly a gift. In true Smith fashion, Darrell never met a stranger. To those that knew him well knew him as “Big.”

“Big” was always the life of the party. His personality was as big as his name. The “Big” hunting trips, the road trips, the get togethers with friends are memories and laughs that will stay with many for years to come.

Darrell believed in his God, had faith that God could do anything. On July 31, that same God carried Darrell home to where there will be no more tears, no more pain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel and Beatrice Smith, his loving wife, Yvonne Long Smith.

He is survived by one son, David K Smith, married to Carlen of Okemah, OK. Four grandchildren, Camille Adams, married to Aaron Adams of Pine Forest, Tx, Mikail, Spenser, Alecia Smith of Okemah, OK, one great grandson, Grant Adams.

Darrell will be greatly missed by a host of extended family and friends.

Home going service will be held at Eastwood Pentecostal Church, Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Officiated by Pastor Aaron Lopez. The visitation will begin at 10am, with services beginning at 11am. Burial will be concluded at Creel Cemetery , Topsy, La.
