Darrell G. Cormier

Darrell Gene Cormier went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 20, 2020 following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Darrell was an avid gardener and trainer of his precious show dogs, with whom he won many championships, trophies and ribbons. He was also devoted to American Legion Baseball, who he supported with much of his time and effort.

He was born on January 22, 1948. He was welcomed into Heaven by his father Stephen Cormier, his mother Lottie Foreman Cormier, brothers Dwight S Cormier and Kenneth W Cormier, and sister-in-law Dona Reed Cormier.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Stokes Cormier of Westlake, Louisiana; former wife, Theresa Landry-Cormier of Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughter Amy Cormier Jenkins of Mansfield, Texas; sons Darren Cormier of San Antonio, Texas, and Douglas Cormier of Lake Charles, Louisiana; granddaughters Katelyn Cormier, Shelby Cormier and Elizabeth Jenkins; grandsons Joseph Cormier, Cole Cormier, Cade Cormier, and Caleb Cormier; great grandson Grayson Cormier; brothers Carlton C Cormier(Priscilla H Cormier) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Stephen Lyle Cormier (Kristi Cormier) of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; a sister Gay Nell Cormier Andrews of Bentonville, Arkansas; special friend BJ Daigle of Westlake , Louisiana who was like a sister; and many nieces and nephews. He also had many other friends who will miss him dearly.

At Darrell’s request, he will be cremated and the family will host a celebration of his life with day and time to be determined.
