Darryl Danos

Darryl Joseph “Poncho” Danos passed away at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital on January 19^th, 2021 at the age of 71.

Darryl was born on January 21^st, 1949 in Galliano, LA.  He graduated from the first class of South Lafourche High School in 1967 and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Business from Nicholls State University.  He was retired from Moran Gulf Shipping Agencies.

Darryl was an avid LSU Tiger fan who loved all things purple and gold, but especially attending LSU football games with his family and celebrating every time LSU beat the University of Alabama.  He enjoyed a good crawfish boil and spending time with his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by the family cat, Lola.  He was a Christian man of faith and member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki of Lake Charles; children, Samantha Abshire and her husband Allen of Thibodaux and Tonya Viator and her husband Dwayne of Youngsville; his stepson, Randall Authement II and his significant other Scheri of Lake Charles; his sister, Ginny Landry and her husband Donald of Arkansas and his grandchildren, Zachary Abshire, Jullien Benoit, Madison Abshire, Gracelyn Benoit, Ethan Authement and Jake Viator.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tilman “Blackie” Danos; his mother, Betty Bouvier Danos and his stepdaughter, Erika Authement.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. A private celebration of life gathering and burial at Consolata Cemetery will be held at a later date.
