Dave Ross, Sr.

Mr. Dave Ross Sr., 80, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 in Lake Charles.

He was a resident of Sulphur. Mr. Ross enjoyed singing gospel music and he was an avid pool player.

Mr. Ross is survived by his wife, Marlena Ross; eight children, Patsy (Donald) Braxton of Sulphur, Dillard (Rita) Ross, Glenda B. Brooks, Michael Ross Sr., Dave Ross Jr., all of Lake Charles, Matthew (Denice) Ross of TN, Martha (Rodney) Bowen, Marlene (Brian) Kelly both of GA; four sisters, Nettie Jacobs, Lucille Brown, Edith Robertson, Lottie Davie all of Winnsboro; daughter-in-law, Ethel Ross of Lake Charles; son-in-law, Gerald Noel of Sulphur; 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 5 great -great grandchildren.

Mr. Ross is preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie Kelly; two children, Charles V. Ross and Shianne "Debra" Noel; one grandson, Michael Ross Jr.; one sister and four brothers.

Funeral service will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00AM in Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Noel will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake.

Visitation will be held Monday from 9AM until time of service.
