David Daniel Spell, 71, of Lake Charles, LA died on Sunday, August 19, 2012 in his residence.
Mr. Spell was born July 12, 1940 in Crowley, LA and lived in Lake Charles for most of his life. He retired from the Ironworker's Local # 678 after twenty-five years of service. He loved shrimping, fishing, and hunting.
Mr. Spell is survived by his children, David Raleigh Spell and wife Tina of Moss Bluff, James Daniel "Bubba" Spell and wife Robyn of Westlake, LA, Mark Allen Spell and wife Tammy of Lake Charles, Pamela Kay Courville and husband Shane of Moss Bluff, Jeffrey Bryan Spell and wife Cindy of Moss Bluff, and Gerald Keith Spell and girlfriend Sherri Hebert ob Moss Bluff; brother, Carol Ray Spell of Sulphur, LA; mother of his children, Carolyn Spell of Moss Bluff; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Mary Spell; ten brothers and sisters; and his dog, Lucky.
His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Gerald Rodrigue will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
