David Lamar Cook, 72, of Lake Charles passed away at 12:33 PM on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in a local hospital.
Mr. Cook was born on December 16, 1947 in San Antonio, TX and was raised in Ruston where he was a graduate of Minden High School and attended Minden Vocational Technical school. He began his career in Instrumentation at the LA Army Ammunition Plant in Minden.
His greatest passion, of which he shared with his sons, was dirt track racing, working on cars and building motors. He also enjoyed playing baseball, coaching his boys in Little League and being a fan.
Those left to honor his memory are two sons, Lamar Cook (Jill) of Moss Bluff and Lee Cook (Nikki) of Burbank, CA; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Nate, and Chelsea Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and M.L. Cook and one brother, Artis Cook and sister, Charlotte Morgan.
Interment services in Minden, LA will be held at a later date.
