David Leroy Holmes

David Leroy Holmes, 71, of Sulphur, LA died at 4:10 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in a local care facility. Mr. Holmes was born February 26, 1943 in Tylertown, MS and moved to the Lake Charles / Sulphur area in 1977. He worked as a machinist for Cities Service and retired from Honeywell after numerous years of service. He was a member of Truth Apostolic Church in Sulphur. Mr. Holmes is survived by his son, Billy Holmes and wife Kimberly of Sulphur, LA; daughter, Crystal Mayo and husband Doug of Westlake, LA; brothers, Warren Holmes of West Helena, AR and Bennie Holmes of Angie, LA; mother of his children, Paulette Smith of Sulphur, LA; and six loving grandchildren. Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his sister, LeeVonne Hendricks and brother, Gerald Holmes. His cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
