June 21, 1947 — September 27, 2011

David L. Rosier, 64, of Lake Charles passed away at 8:02 AM on Tuesday, September 27, 2011.

Mr. Rosier was born on June 21, 1947 in Lake Charles, LA.

David served his country as a soldier of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard Aircraft and the U.S.S. Vigor. He entered the Navy in 1965 and served until 1969 when he was honorably discharged. Throughout his life, David took on many new ventures. He was good at everything he tried. He was an expert mechanic, accomplished writer, talented artist, and master musician. He was a man of great intelligence and knew something about everything. David had a great love for life and truly enjoyed each day to its fullest. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could find the good in every situation. He recognized the value of family and found two of his closest and best friends to be his sister, Anne and brother-in-law, Wayne. David's greatest love was for God. He had an incredible knowledge of the Word of God and took every opportunity to share this with others.

He is survived by his sister, Diana Rosier Rose and husband Wayne of Lake Charles; a son, Raymond Scott Rosier of Pineville; son, Charles Wayne Rosier of Westlake; daughter, Wanda Rosier Burks of DeRidder; daughter, Teresa Rosier of Moss Bluff; eleven grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends and other family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ivy E. Rosier; his mother, Maudie "Florice" Moore Fontenot; and his son, David Wesley Rosier.

Now God has written the final chapter in David's book of life. He had concluded his journey and now he'll be resting until the "great getting up morning" when the dead in Christ shall rise.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 29, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. His uncle, Rev. M.L. Moore and also Rev.
