David "Mutt" Lyons

David “Mutt” Lyons, 92, of Sulphur, LA passed away on July 4^th, 2022, in a local care facility surrounded by his loving family.

Mutt was born on February 12, 1930, in Westlake, LA to Jefferson and Nora Lyons. He enjoyed fishing and gardening in the great outdoors. Mutt could always be found at any sports event cheering on his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, a member of Knights of Columbus, and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Cuby Sepulvado Lyons; grandsons, Jonathan Lyons and wife Jenny and Jason Wayne Lyons; great grandsons, Michael David Lyons and Gabriel Trace Lyons; and son in law, Frank Smith.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Lynn Lyons- Smith; parents; and 7 siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Friday, July 8^th, 2022, at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, July 7^th, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume from 8:00 AM on Friday at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home until processing to St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at 10:45 AM. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South. Fr. Luke Krzanowski, M.S. will officiate services.
