David Ryan LaFleur, 31, of Lake Charles, LA, died suddenly on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Ryan was born August 27, 1983 in Lake Charles, LA, where he has lived all of his life. He was a 2001 graduate of Barbe High School, where he played football, and attended Sowela Tech. He also enjoyed playing baseball in the South Lake Charles Little League. "LaFleur" as he was called, was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed working as a hunting and fishing guide for Grand View Hunting Lodge in Cameron Parish and worked at various construction companies, including Turner, Polaris, and Ron Williams. He also worked as a Crew Boat Captain for B&J, but was currently employed with NAEN. He loved Cajun music and spoke fluent Cajun French and always took pride in his Cajun / country heritage. His outgoing, fun loving personality will forever be missed. He never met a stranger and was loved by all. Ryan is survived by his parents, David and Becky LaFleur of Big Lake; brother, Matthew John LaFleur of Lake Charles, LA; grandmother, Bernice M. LaFleur of Lake Charles; aunts and uncles, Burt and Tammy Bellard of Lake Charles, Ricky and Darlene Bellard of Princeton, LA, Tonette and Doc Lovett of Haughton, LA, Beverly Bellard of Lake Charles and Sheryl and David Farmer of Moss Bluff; companion, Mona Broussard of Lake Charles; along with numerous cousins, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curley J. LaFleur, Chester Bellard and Amy Bellard; uncle and Godfather, Tony Bellard; and cousin, David Lovett. His funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Burial will follow in Sweetlake - Grand Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
