David Scott Guillory

David Scott Guillory, 73, of Lake Charles, LA, died surrounded by loving family at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2018 in a Houston, TX hospital.

Mr. Guillory was born November 20, 1944 in Lake Charles, LA, was a 1962 graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated from McNeese State University with a degree in business. He served his country in the U.S. National Guard and the National Guard Reserves. “Diamond Dave” worked for Navarra’s Jewelry for over forty years. He enjoyed duck hunting and fishing during his younger years and took up a love for golfing and cooking later in life. Mr. Guillory was a member of the Lake Charles Country Club, the Buccaneers, and was an original member of the Krewe of Contraband. He was also a member of the YMBC, where he enjoyed hosting and cooking for the pilots of the air shows. He was also a member of Sale Street Baptist Church.

Mr. Guillory is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Dianna Sohrwide Guillory; daughters, Camille Guillory Cormier and husband Troy of Lafayette, LA and Elizabeth Guillory Broussard and husband Marcus of Lake Charles; brothers, John Edward Guillory and wife Celia and Brian Guillory and wife Libby, all of Covington, LA; sister, Jeanine Bushnell and husband Craig of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Grayson David Broussard, Ava Grace Broussard, and Ty David Cormier; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Scott “Frenchie” and Joan Isobel Guillory.

His private graveside service and burial will be at Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Drs. Michael Broussard, James “Butch” Maze, and Muhammad Jadoon, Amedysis Home Health, Dr. Robert C. Looney and the chemo nurses at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, and the staff at M.D. Anderson Hospital, especially Dr. Garrett Walsh.
