David Trahan

David Joseph Trahan, 73, of Lake Charles went to see his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 7:35 PM in his residence surrounded by his family.

David was born September 10, 1939 in Rayne, Louisiana to his parents, Onezime and Eva Trahan. David belonged to the Operating Engineers Local # 406 where he was known as Flipper.

He was an owner of a 1936 Model T and a proud member of Midnight Fantasies Car Club. He loved restoring old motors and driving 18 wheelers for Hay Bros Construction. His grandchildren were his life.

Survivors include wife of 52 years, Carol Trahan; daughter, Laura Fontenot; son, Roddy Trahan; one brother, Freddie Trahan; and three grandchildren, Madison Kristine, Morgan Gabriel, and Garrett Joseph.

David is preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Janise; parents; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be on Monday June 10, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
