David Wayne Golden, 59, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. After a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis, David is now “On the road again.” David was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, Louisiana and earned his bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University and his Masters from Louisiana State University. He became a known author of western books. David enjoyed traveling the world as a nuclear welder, attending rodeos with his kids and being a proud Papaw to his four grandkids.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Phillip Golden; one son, Aaron Golden; one daughter, Kenzie Golden Roden; and one sister, Phyllis.
David is survived by two sons, Phillip Golden and fiancé, Nancy Norman and Jake Golden and wife Ashly; son in law, James Roden and wife Charmaine; and four grandchildren, Coy and Dawson Roden, Lilly Golden and Shank Golden.
A memorial service for David will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 3 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 2-3 PM. There will be a rosary at 3 PM followed by a short memorial service.
