De Khac Do

De Khac Do, 70, passed away on March 14, 2020 in his home with his family by his side.

He was born on March September 17, 1950 in Siagon, Vietnam. He was in the South Vietnamese Navy, and came to the United States as a refugee in 1975. He met the love of his life, Joy Eklund in Arizona while working for Brown & Root Construction Co. She was in high school at the time. They were married in 1977, and lived there until moving to Lake Charles in 1983 for work. He worked for Lion Elastomers for the last fifteen years.

He will be remembered as an honest, respectable family man who enjoyed gardening and fishing. But above all, he adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment with them.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Joy Eklund Do; his son, Garrett Do of Roseville, CA; and his daughter, Jordan Do of Lake Charles; two sisters, Mai Alston of Vietnam, and Tuiet Giang of Florida; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
