Dean Roberts

Dean Roberts, 79, of Lake Charles died at 3:50 PM on Sunday, January 1, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mr. Roberts was born on August 10, 1932 in Albion, NE. He was a retired draftsman.

He took great pride in raising his Arabian horses.

Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Deanne Smith and husband Mark of Lake Charles, Monique Roberts of South Lake, TX, and Michelle Gaspard of Moss Bluff; a daughter-in-law, Frances Roberts of Lake Charles; thirteen grandchildren, Lee, Sarah, Jake, and Matthew Roberts, Gabriela, Isabel, Giancarlo, and Alessandra Dominguez, Austin, Luke, and Josee Gaspard, and Matthew and Jordan Smith; two great grandchildren, Mallory and Kory LeBleu.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Roberts and a son, Scott Roberts.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Cremation will take place under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home following the service. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 1:45 PM in the funeral home.
