Deanna Leblanc Gennuso

Deanna LeBlanc Gennuso, 92, of Lake Charles passed away on Sunday, November

7, 2021.

She was born in Iowa, LA and moved to Lake Charles where she graduated in 1946 from St. Charles Academy.

Deanna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved hosting family gatherings for holidays and special occasions.  She enjoyed reading and was an expert at needlepoint, smocking, and embroidery.  Deanna was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church for many years.

Mrs. Gennuso is preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Gennuso, Sr.; her parents, Harry and Liola LeBlanc; brother, Preston LeBlanc and Rolland LeBlanc; infant sister, June Ella LeBlanc; and son in law, Stan Robertson

Deanna is survived by two sons, Louis Gennuso, Jr. (Sherry) of Lake Charles, LA, and John Thomas “Tommy” Gennuso (Chuck Chewning) of Savannah, GA; two daughters, Mary Carol “Tita” Robertson and Nancy Authement (Eric) of Lake Charles, LA; and a brother,  Max LeBlanc (Dorothy) of Sulphur, LA.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kevin Gennuso, Lisa LaFosse (Jason), Mark Robertson (Stephanie), Dan Robertson (Jordan), Michael Authement (Carly), and Emily Authement;  nine great grandchildren, Myles Gennuso, Aidan Gennuso, Ethan LaFosse, Lucas LaFosse, Sophia Robertson, Anna Robertson, Noelle Robertson, Anders Robertson, and Phoebe Authement.

The family would like to thank the staff of Resthaven of Lake Charles for their care and kindness.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at University Baptist Church.  Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
