Debbie Borel, 71, was perfectly healed on Sunday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 6, 1953, to Lucy Caroline Jaffa and Joseph "Bobby" Robert Borel. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.
A woman of deep faith and boundless love, Debbie was a source of inspiration for all who were blessed to know her. She viewed the world through rose colored lenses, maintaining a positive outlook on life and living each day full of joy and cheerfulness. Ever the eternal optimist, she saw the glass as half full, no matter the challenges life presented.
She was talented and adventurous in many aspects of life. Debbie had a long and successful career, beginning as dental assistant and making a move into sales full of grit and determination. She began selling ads for the Yellow Pages, then selling banking software with Banking Solutions, and lastly selling insurance for Aflac. Working for Aflac gave her the opportunity to go on many amazing vacations and make lifelong friends. She believed in the products she sold and was full of pride to have that job. She was an exceptional saleswoman and consistently ranked #1 at each of the places she worked. Debbie had a passion for plants, from her many houseplants to her meticulously cared-for landscaping and back porch. She loved nature and gardening, and her beautiful yard reflected her passion.
A devout Christian, Debbie was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was involved in the church's youth programs and adored the ladies in her Sunday school class. Her faith and love for others were evident in her commitment to both her church and her family. Above all, Debbie cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. She loved giving the gift of her time to her grandkids by treating them to special experiences with her. These special one on one times spent with each grandchild will serve as treasured memories of her love and devotion to each one of them. Not a day went by where she didn't talk about how much her family meant to her. Debbie's family was arguably her most important achievement in life.
Debbie is survived by her children, Christopher Dale Myers (Jennifer) with Kinsley and Conrad and Dr. Lindsey Nicole LeBlanc (Dr. Blake) with Bennett, Edward, and Caroline; her father, Joseph "Bobby" Robert Borel; her sisters, Nanette Fontenot (Brad) and Tania Allen (Steve); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lucy Caroline Jaffa Borel.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1800 Country Club Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70605.
