Deborah C. “Debbie” Pittman, 70, of Lake Charles, passed away on Friday August 16, 2024 at her residence.
Debbie is a native and life-long resident of Lake Charles. She was a 1972 graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended McNeese State University. She worked and retired from Walmart on Highway 14. Debbie loved her work family and enjoyed joking around with them as well as the many customers she served through the years. Her kind heart and spirit touched and inspired many lives. In her spare time, Debbie enjoyed knitting caps and giving them to anyone who needed them, watching CSI Miami, CSI New Orleans and Dateline. Debbie also found joy in reading and spending time with her daughters cooking Red Beans in the slow cooker and candles. As a Christian, Debbie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Lake Charles, where she was a member of the Mercy and Grace Sunday Morning Bible Study and attended the women on a mission meetings at First Baptist Church of Lake Charles.
Preceding Debbie in death are her parents, Elton Van and Clair Ruth Williams Pittman; brother, Gary Pittman; sister-in-law, Beverly Pittman; and a daughter, Alison Landry. She is survived by her daughter, Erin Landry, Lake Charles; sister, Diana Dyer (Harlan), Benton, MS; brother, Glenn “Tiny” Pittman, Lake Charles; beloved feline accomplice, “Baby” Pittman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family of the heart.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday August 23, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday with Dr. David Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
