Deborah Ann Gutekunst

Deborah Ann Gutekunst, 59, of Lake Charles passed away in a local hospital.

Miss Gutekunst was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Lake Charles High School where she was a Kiltie and McNeese State University where she obtained a Bachelor degree in Nursing. She worked as a RN in many areas, starting her career and retiring with Christus St. Patrick Hospital. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling with family, dining and watching TV. She loved nature, purple pansies, butterflies and all animals. Miss Gutekunst was a member of First Pentecostal Church where she was active in Bible study and prayer group. She also enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, JoAnn Hoffpauir Gutekunst; brother, William Karl “Billy” Gutekunst and wife Cinthia and nephew, Ezekial Gutekunst, all of Lake Charles and aunt, Patricia Harris of Carmi, IL.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Charles Gutekunst.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Ebenezer Community Cemetery in Crowley, LA. Reverend Jimmy Lormand will officiate.
