Deborah Sue Solice

Deborah Sue (Debbie) Solice, 69, of Houston and formerly of Lake Charles passed away peacefully on December 23, 2014 at a Houston area hospital. Debbie was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John Paul and Betty Lou Davis Jones. She was of the Christian faith and a long time resident of Lake Charles, where she raised her family. She was a member of the Houston Heights Woman's Club and Houston First Baptist Church, where she was a part of The Catacombs Bible Study Class. She enjoyed reading, yard sales and was an excellent cook. The recipes that she leaves her family for chicken and dumplings, fried chicken and cornbread dressing may be written down to pass along to her family, but the love that she added can never be replaced. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Pete. She leaves to honor and cherish her memories her five children, Christy Solice, Lake Charles; Russell Solice and wife Dianne, Sarasota, Fl; Wendy Bergeron and fiancé Mike Muse, Lake Charles, Mickey Solice and wife Sandy, Moss Bluff; and Mack Solice, Lake Charles; three step children, Jackie Ritchie and husband Alvin, Don Solice and wife Debbie, and Ronnie Solice and wife Raelyn, all of Houston, TX; fourteen grandchildren, Candice Hicks, Cody Gilley, Lauren, Zach, and Emily Delpapa, Justin, Kaitlyn, and Caleb Solice, Courtney Kithas, Dustin and Devin Solice, Lauren Solice, and Mary and Ashley Eastwood; and four great grandchildren, Dayton and Hadleigh Hicks, Miri Gilley, and Paul Kithas; three brothers, Phillip Jones and wife Helen, Camarillo, California; Michael Jones, Hilton Head, South Carolina; and Hank Jones, Houston; sister and caregiver, Laura Virgadamo and husband Dennis, Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be on Monday December 29 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the funeral home with the Rev. Alan Weishampel officiating. Burial will be in the Old Ritchie Cemetery.
