Della Mae Hebert Menard, 77, passed away on November 19, 2010, surrounded by her loving husband and children. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 22, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Reverend Gerard Boulanger will officiate. The Interment will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 21st, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. led by family friend A.J. Boullion and grandson Trent and Daniel Menard, and continue 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Della was born on January 25, 1933 in Mermentau, LA. She lived in Sulphur where she and her husband reared nine children. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved to help her children with homework and took pride in getting her young children dressed for school. She enjoyed growing flowers, was a good cook and an excellent seamstress. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family. Mrs. Menard was preceded in death by her son, Carl James Menard; her grandsons, James Wayne "Jamey" Broussard, Russell Joseph Foote and great-grandson Matthew Paul Menard; her granddaughter, Laci Menard Guidry; great-granddaughters Gabrielle Sullivan Menard and Leila Faith Chandler; her parents, Savie and Lillian Hebert Duhon; brothers Murphy and Ernest Hebert; and her sister, Ella Hebert Vincent Reese. Mrs. Menard is survived by her husband of 62 years, Delton Joseph "D.J." Menard and their eight children: daughters Charlotte Broussard and husband Wayne, Janis Tolbert and husband Tommy, Donna Prejean and husband Jeff, all of Sulphur, and Susan Foote and husband Craig of Marrero, LA; sons Leland and wife Beverly Menard of South Berwick, ME, Sherill and wife Nancy Menard of Sulphur, Brady and wife Donna Menard of Navarre, FL, Darren and wife Beth Menard of Sulphur, and daughter-in-law Katrina Menard Ray of Sulphur; 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. The family would especially like to thank the following people who assisted in Mrs. Menard's care during her illness: the most compassionate and caring Drs. Michael Broussard and Albert Chinn; the nurses, aides and staff from Holly Hill Nursing Home and Odyssey Hospice, especially Judy, Shauntelle, Tori, Theresa, Verna, Connie, Janice, Rose, Nikki, Barbara, Angella, Jessica, Nicole, Michelle, Edwin, Ms. Brenda, Robin and Angel.
